A Christian School

Christian SchoolFounded in 1908, the School has, throughout its history, sought to witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Families have always looked to us to nurture their children in the Christian Faith and we see this as an important part of our mission.

St John's College is part of the world wide Lasallian community of schools established by the De La Salle Brothers, with a network of schools in over 80 countries. Lasallian schools are ecumenical; we are inclusive and celebrate diversity. Being Lasallian is about living and teaching the Gospel, honouring the individual and building a community. We aim to follow the vision of John Baptist De La Salle in both our academic and our pastoral care.

Assemblies are held at various levels within the school, and regular acts of collective worship are among the principal means of enabling and encouraging practice and development in these areas. They also provide an important means of promoting spiritual ‘literacy’ and moral awareness in pupils and staff alike. DLS
