Our aim at St John’s is to create an environment which enables our students to gain excellent A Level results whilst developing confidence and skills in many other areas. Academic success is very important, but at St John’s we wish to develop and enhance our pupils’ personal qualities by getting involved and taking responsibility.

We anticipate that Sixth Formers will contribute to the management of the School and it's continuation as being one of the best colleges in Hampshire.  There are many opportunities to take on leadership roles, both in school and the individual Houses. We value our senior pupils’ ideas, expect them to show initiative, and to grow more confident as they learn and lead others. At St John’s we welcome students with a wide range of abilities.

St John’s Sixth Form is a place where every student is known by the teaching staff and the classes are tailored to each individual need. We are a traditional sixth form where students act as leaders and role models for the rest of the school. We are a very sociable sixth form with small study areas and common room where a strong sense of community and common purpose pervades.
