Art
Years 7 – to 9 (Key stage three)
During Years 7 to 9 pupils work in a variety of media. Available in the department are painting and drawing, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking and textiles. During Key Stage 3 pupils will have experienced each of these disciplines. They are also encouraged to build a broad range of skills, developing and realising their ideas.
Years 10 and 11 (GCSE - EdExel)
Disciplines include painting and drawing, printmaking, sculpture and alternative media. For this specification, pupils must work in two of the disciplines.
A Level Art (AQA)
This specification provides candidates with opportunities to develop personal responses to ideas, observations, experiences, environments and cultures in practical, critical and contextual forms. It lays an appropriate foundation for further study of Art and Design or related subjects in higher education. In addition, it is suitable for the diverse range of candidates who wish to develop their interest in and enjoyment of Art and Design, fostering its value in lifelong learning.
