Lord Stoneham talks politics, journalism and the coalition

On Friday 3 February one of the most recently created Liberal Democrat life peers, Baron Stoneham of Droxford, addressed members of the St John’s College Politics Society on the subject of ‘Politics, Journalism and the Coalition’.

The Society held its first meeting of the term last Friday when the speaker was Lord Stoneham of Droxford, former managing director of the Portsmouth News and operations director for the Liberal Democrat Party until the last general election. He gave an interesting talk on his career in politics and journalism, focusing on the changes which have transformed the media over the last two decades.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 7 March at 7.30 pm, when the speaker will be military historian, Professor Gary Sheffield, whose subject will be ‘Churchill as a war leader’.
