Thank you Mr Adams

The Science Department is now the proud owner of a working model of our Solar System, thanks to Mr John Adams.
After reading the article about our new GCSE Astronomy course in the Portsmouth News last week Mr Adams, aged 81, contacted the School about donating the model to the Science department.
It took Mr Adams a year to make the model, collecting each part with a weekly magazine about the Solar System. Now Mr Adams wants the model to go to a good home, where it will be put to good use. Students will use the model to learn about the solar system, and measure distance between each planet.
Students visited Mr Adams with Mr Wilce, who will teach the GCSE Astronomy course, to collect the model. Frankie Stott, aged 14, said “It is really kind of Mr Adams to donate this model to the School. He spent a whole year building it – if it was me I would want to keep it.”
Ali Choudhury, 13, said. “I was impressed with My Adams determination. If it was me I would have probably given up after just a couple of weeks.”
