St John’s Vs Warminster School
After the half-term break the Under 13, 14 and 15 teams had matches against Warminster School. Unfortunately the opposition were unable to raise a team at Under-12 level, however they had a good training session.
The Under 13 team travelled to Warminster. Unfortunately they lost their match 4-1, with Ed Gomesz scoring the team’s only goal. Warminster played some very good Hockey throughout, and conceding two goals in the last ten minutes meant that the scoreline flattered the opposition somewhat.
The Under 14 team played at home in a tightly contested 0-0 draw. Both teams managed to create some chances, but neither team succeeded due to some excellent defence. Niall Peachy was the match saver when, with thirty seconds left of the match, he faced a one-on-one with one of the Warminster attackers and pulled off an excellent save.
The Under 15 team also played at home against a team that beat us 5-2 in our first ever Hockey fixture last year. Things were different this time, and all the practise in the Sports Hall and during Games periods really did show and the Under 15s won 4-0, in a much shortened match. All performed excellently, however particular mention must go to Bart Pirie in goal, Minky Buckland, Tom Watts, Chris Carr, Carragh O'Shaughnessy and Oliver Clark, with the goals coming from Tom (2), Chris and Isaac Smith.
