A new format for the House Hockey was introduced for this term. The concept was for each House to select a team with a minimum of two players from each team group: Under-12, Under-13, Under-14, Under-15 & 1st XI. Each team then played against every other team in a league system, with the top team being crowned House Hockey champions 2013.

This was the last weekend of competitive fixtures of the term, with next weekend seeing a new format for the House Hockey competition that will involve pupils from all year groups.
All teams were against Lord Wandsworth College this week, a school with a very strong reputation for Hockey, and a valuable addition to our fixture list.

Our Junior School hosted the 11th Independent Schools’ Netball Tournament on Saturday. This tournament attracted a good number of netball playing schools including Mayville; Stroud School; Ryde School, the winners for the last four years; and a visiting team from Edgbaston in the Midlands.

The first Hockey fixtures against Portsmouth Grammar School saw St John's College finishing with a return of played five, won three and lost two. That it was against PGS 'B" teams was not important, Hockey is an established sport at the Grammar School and to get these results shows the improvement of all Hockey players at St John's.

The St John’s College Under 11 ‘A’ 5-a-side football team ended the year on a high when they defeated last year’s winners, St John’s R.C. School, at the U11 Catholic School’s Tournament on Saturday 1 December. The host team beat St John’s RC School in a closely contested final by 1 – 0.
