St John's Senior School
Welcome to the St John’s College Senior (Upper) School Webpages. The senior section of the school takes pupils from age 11 upwards. We are an all-ability school, our aim being to build upon each child’s experience and attainment at primary level by providing a well-rounded academic, creative, physical, social and spiritual education. It that way we seek to identify and realise each individual’s personal potential in all areas and so in the end produce truly confident and competent young people who are ready and able for the world beyond school.
The vast majority of St John’s Year 6 pupils transfer directly to the Upper School. They find this continuity reassuring, and so are able to make a sure and confident start to their Key Stage 3 studies. They are joined at the start of Year 7 by a substantial intake from a variety of feeder schools – prep and primary. Smaller numbers also start in other year groups at the beginning of each school year. Of course, children may join us at other times throughout the year – space permitting. The entrance procedure for Years 7-9 involves assessment in English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning. For further details see the click here.
